Welcome!
Welcome to the Medieval Anglo-Jewish Women (MAJW) site. MAJW is a project in development. It compiles information about the hundreds of Jewish
women who lived, worked, and raised families in medieval England. In the Alpha version
of this site, 18 women are FEATURED, a designation that means images, biographies, and further reading suggestions
are included in their profiles. 18 is a significant number in Judaism, the numerical
equivalent of the Hebrew word chai (life).
Records of 702 others are also available. Visit the About page for more information on the project.
